Driven by the desire to boost the quality of service of wireless systems closer to that afforded by wireline systems, space-time processing for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communications research has drawn remarkable interest in recent years. Excit- ing theoretical advances, complemented by rapid transition of research results to industry products and services, have created a vibrant and growing area that is already established by all counts. This offers a good opportunity to reflect on key developments in the area during the past decade and also outline emerging trends.

This book is concerned with integrated circuits and systems for wireless and mobile communications. Circuit techniques and implementation of reconfigurable low-voltage and low-power single-chip CMOS transceivers for multiband and multi- mode universal wireless communications are the focus of the book. Applications encompass both long-range mobile cellular communications (GSM and UMTS) and short-range wireless LANs (IEEE802.11 and Bluetooth). This effort started as an answer to the numerous questions the authors have repeatedly had to answer about electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and input/output (1/0) designs. In the past no comprehensive book existed suffi- ciently covering these areas, and these topics were rarely taught in engineering schools. GaN is an already well implanted semiconductor technology, widely diffused in the LED optoelectronics industry. For about 10 years, GaN devices have also been developed for RF wireless applications where they can replace Silicon transistors in some selected systems. That incursion in the RF field has open the door to the power switching capability in the lower frequency range and thus to the power electronic applications. Compared to Silicon, GaN exhibits largely better figures for most of the key specifications: Electric field, energy gap, electron mobility and melting point. Intrinsically, GaN could offer better performance than Silicon in terms of: breakdown voltage, switching frequency and Overall systems efficiency.

Recent work has shown that convolutional networks can be substantially deeper, more accurate, and efficient to train if they contain shorter connections between layers close to the input and those close to the output. In this paper, we embrace this observation and introduce the Dense Convo- lutional Network (DenseNet), which connects each layer to every other layer in a feed-forward fashion.

This design uses Common-Emitter Amplifier (Class A) with 2N3904 Bipolar Junction Transistor. Use “Voltage Divider Biasing” to reduce the effects of varying β (= ic / ib) (by holding the Base voltage constant) Base Voltage (Vb) = Vcc * [R2 / (R1 + R2)] Use Coupling Capacitors to separate the AC signals from the DC biasing voltage (which only pass AC signals and block any DC component). Use Bypass Capacitor to maintain the Q-point stability. To determine the value of each component, first set Q-point close to the center position of the load line. (RL is the resistance of the speaker.)
