The software is written in assembler, as it is very short and it need the speed in the main loop. This is the heart of the synth. To be precise, it s in the 7 lines of assembler that makes up the main loop. The rest of the code is the wavetables and the communication code.

This experiment uses the Blackfi n BF533/BF537 EZ-KIT to run a simple FIR fi lter on stereo channels at a sampling frequency of 48 kHz. The CYCLE register is embedded in the main program ( process_data.c) to benchmark the time needed to process two FIR fi lters. A background telemetry channel (BTC) is set up to display the cycle count.

Software-defined radios (SDRs) have been around for more than a decade. The first complete Global Positioning System (GPS) implementation was described by Dennis Akos in 1997. Since then several research groups have presented their contributions.We therefore find it timely to publish an up-to-date text on the subject and at the same time include Galileo, the forthcoming European satellitebased navigation system.
