This article describes how to consume Web services in Java 1.5.0 using the new JAX-WS 2.0 API (JSR 228). Developers around the world, including me, have always complained about the hard ways to WORK in Java to consume even a Web service as simple as adding two numbers. However, with JAX-WS 2.0 API now available in core Java in JDK 1.5.0, life is simple like never before.

The concept of the Altera Nios II embedded processor implementation inside Field Programmable Gate Array [FPGA] of the CCD camera for the “Pi of the Sky” experiment is presented. The digital board of the CCD camera, its most important components, current implementation of firmware [VHDL] inside the FPGA and the role of external 8051 microcontroller is briefly described. The main goal of the presented WORK is to get rid of the external microcontroller and to design new system with Nios II processor built inside FPGA chip. Constraints for implementing the design into the existing camera boards are discussed. New possibilities offered by a larger FPGA for next generation of cameras are considered.

This paper shows the development of a 1024-point radix-4 FFT VHDL core for applications in hardware signal processing, targeting low-cost FPGA technologies. The developed core is targeted into a Xilinx庐 Spartan鈩?3 XC3S200 FPGA with the inclusion of a VGA display interface and an external 16-bit data acquisition system for performance evaluation purposes. Several tests were performed in order to verify FFT core functionality, besides the time performance analysis highlights the core advantages over commercially available DSPs and Pentium-based PCs. The core is compared with similar third party IP cores targeting resourceful FPGA technologies. The novelty of this WORK is to provide a lowcost, resource efficient core for spectrum analysis applications.

-The existence of numerous imaging modalities makes it possible to present different data present in different modalities together thus forming multimodal images. Component images forming multimodal images should be aligned, or registered so that all the data, coming from the different modalities, are displayed in proper locations. Mutual Information is the similarity measure used in this case for optimizing the two images. This method requires estimating joint histogram of the two images. The fusion of images is the process of combining two or more images into a single image retaining important features from each. The Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) has become an attractive tool for fusing multimodal images. In this WORK it has been used to segment the features of the input images to produce a region map. Features of each region are calculated and a region based approach is used to fuse the images in the wavelet domain.
