通用移动通信系统，简称UMTS(UniversalMobileTelecommunicationsSystem)，UMTS作为一个完整的3G移动通信技术标准，UMTS并不仅限于定义空中接口。除WCDMA作为首选空中接口技术获得不断完善外，UMTS还相继引入了TD-SCDMA和HSDPA技术。
