Are they just a neat new way to market products or will they truly offer us a new medium of communication that will someday surpass even televisions and telephones? The answer is, who knows? Unfortunately, the ultimate use for the Internet is still unknown. This is because it is still in such a state of flux that it s Pretty much impossible to accurately predict where it will end up. However, you can look at the evidence of what is there now and gain some insight into what the Internet might become, at least in terms of games.

The program SPLAY is a pascal to C translation of a program that Kim Kokkonen wrote in Turbo Pascal to implement Splay Trees. This program compresses and decompresses files, and does a Pretty good job of it. Contents: SPLAY.PAS Original TP source code SPLAY.C Translation of code to C SPLAY.EXE Compiled version of SPLAY.C (small model) README.DOC You are looking at it Read the comments at the beginning of SPLAY.C for more info.

With OpenSSL 0.9.6, a new component has been added to support external crypto devices, for example accelerator cards. The component is called ENGINE, and has still a Pretty experimental status and almost no documentation. It s designed to be fairly easily extensible by the calling programs.

Hey. This some pid code for the atmega88 that I once used to control a heater. It s purpose is Pretty specific, and I only wrote it to work on the mega88, so the code itself won t be too useful. It is a good place to start if you re trying to use or figure out pid though.

This document contains a general overview in the first few sections as well as a more detailed reference in later sections for SVMpython. If you re already familiar with SVMpython, it s possible to get a Pretty good idea of how to use the package merely by browsing through svmstruct.py and multiclass.py. This document provides a more in depth view of how to use the package. Note that this is not a conversion of SVMstruct to Python. It is merely an embedding of Python in existing C code. All code other than the user implemented API functions is still in C, including optimization.

The GSMSP uses the USRP hardware device to receive data from the GSM band. This data is raw and Pretty useless unless filtered correctly.

Artistic Style is a reindenter and reformatter of C, C++, C# and Java source code. When indenting source code, we as programmers have a tendency to use both spaces and tab characters to create the wanted indentation. Moreover, some editors by default insert spaces instead of tabs when pressing the tab key, and other editors (Emacs for example) have the ability to "Pretty up" lines by automatically setting up the white space before the code on the line, possibly inserting spaces in a code that up to now used only tabs for indentation.

I often need a simple function generator. Just to generate a certain frequency. After all the years I ve worked with electronics, I still haven t got me one. Even though I need it now and then, I just couldn t seem to justify the cost of one. So, standard solution - build one yourself. I designed a simple sinewave generator based on a Analog Devices AD9832 chip. It will generate a sinewave from 0.005 to 12 MHz in 0.005 Hz steps. That s Pretty good, and definitely good enough for me ! But while waiting for the AD9832 chip to arrive, I came up with a very simple version of the DDS synth, using just the 2313 and a resistor network.

The all mighty mouse: you can have more memory, you can have blue-ray discs but you are still using the mouse (and the keyboard) to control your computer. The mouse pointer lets you select objects on the screen and operate on them. What and how you operate with the mouse is Pretty simple: there s an arrow on the screen that moves when you move the mouse - screen edges are the border - the area where you mouse lives. When you click it, it does something.

I can remember buying my first electronic calculator. I was teaching a graduate level statistics course and I had to have a calculator with a square root function. Back in the late 1960s, that was a Pretty high-end requirement for a calculator. I managed to purchase one at the “educational discount price” of $149.95! Now, I look down at my desk at an ATmega2560 that is half the size for less than a quarter of the cost and think of all the possibilities built into that piece of hardware. I am amazed by what has happened to everything from toasters to car engines. Who-da-thunk-it 40 years ago?
