New users and old of optimization in MATLAB will find useful tips and tricks in this document, as well as examples one can use as templates for their own problems. Use this tool by editing the file optimtips.m, then execute blocks of code in cell mode from the editor, or best, publish the file to HTML. Copy and paste also works of course. Some readers may find this tool valuable if only for the function pleas - a partitioned least squares solver based on lsqnonlin. This is a work in progress, as I fully expect to add new topics as I think of them or as suggestions are made. 我用matlab写的一个corner detector, 效果比现在流行的harris，susan，CSS等效果要好。 Algorithm is derived from: X.C. He and N.H.C. Yung, Curvature Scale Space Corner Detector with Adaptive Threshold and Dynamic Region of Support , Proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2:791-794, August 2004. Improved algorithm has been included in A Corner Detector based on Global and Local Curvature Properties and submitted to Optical Engineering.

This LDPC software is intended as an introduction to LDPC codes computer based simulation. The pseudo-random irregular low density parity check matrix is based on Radford M. Neal’s programs collection, which can be found in [1]. While Neal’s collection is well documented, in my opinion, C source codes are still overwhelming, especially if you are not knowledgeable in C language. My software is written for MATLAB, which is more readable than C. You may also want to refer to another MATLAB based LDPC source codes in [2], which has different flavor of code-writing style (in fact Arun has error in his log-likelihood decoder).
