This document specifies a collection of compiler directives, library routines, and environment variables that can be used to specify shared-memory parallelism in C, C++ and ForTran programs. This functionality collectively defines the specification of the OpenMP Application Program Interface (OpenMP API). This specification provides a model for parallel programming that is portable across shared memory architectures from different vendors. Compilers from numerous vendors support the OpenMP API. Swarztrauber at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, CO USA. They have been reimplemented in C and optimized in a few ways for OggSquish.

DDSCAT 7.3 is a freely available open-source ForTran-90 software package applying the “discrete dipole approximation” (DDA) to calculate scattering and absorption of electromagnetic waves by targets with arbitrary geometries and complex refractive index. The targets may be isolated entities (e.g., dust particles), but may also be 1-d or 2-d periodic arrays of “target unit cells”, which can be used to study absorption, scattering, and electric fields around arrays of nanostructures.
