Please read this document before attempting to compile and run the libraries and applications! The projects must be compiled in a particular order. Standard support questions are about compiler and/or linker errors that are generated when users try to compile the projects in the wrong order. Other information of interest is available here, so read the entire document fi rst. Wild Magic Version 2.1 is what ships with the fi rst printing of the Game Physics book. Some of the applications that are referenced in the book DID not make it onto the CD–ROM for the book. Version 2.2 contains those applications, plus more

All of Java s Input/Output (I/O) facilities are based on streams, which provide simple ways to read and write data of different types. Java provides many different kinds of streams, each with its own application. The universe of streams is divided into four large categories: input streams and output streams, for reading and writing binary data and readers and writers, for reading and writing textual (character) data. You re almost certainly familiar with the basic kinds of streams--but DID you know that there s a CipherInputStream for reading encrypted data? And a ZipOutputStream for automatically compressing data? Do you know how to use buffered streams effectively to make your I/O operations more efficient? Java I/O, 2nd Edition has been updated for Java 5.0 APIs and tells you all you ever need to know about streams--and probably more.

Maya Calendar During his last sabbatical, professor M. A. Ya made a surprising discovery about the old Maya calendar. From an old knotted message, professor discovered that the Maya civilization used a 365 day long year, called Haab, which had 19 months. Each of the first 18 months was 20 days long, and the names of the months were pop, no, zip, zotz, tzec, xul, yoxkin, mol, chen, yax, zac, ceh, mac, kankin, muan, pax, koyab, cumhu. Instead of having names, the days of the months were denoted by numbers starting from 0 to 19. The last month of Haab was called uayet and had 5 days denoted by numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4. The Maya believed that this month was unlucky, the court of justice was not in session, the trade stopped, people DID not even sweep the floor.

  • ieee754的标准

ieee754的标准,原英文版的!Twenty years ago anarchy threatened floating-point arithmetic. Over a dozen commercially significant arithmetics boasted diverse wordsizes, precisions, rounding procedures and over/underflow behaviors, and more were in the works. “Portable” software intended to reconcile that numerical diversity had become unbearably costly to develop. Thirteen years ago, when IEEE 754 became official, major microprocessor manufacturers had already adopted it despite the challenge it posed to implementors. With unprecedented altruism, hardware designers had risen to its challenge in the belief that they would ease and encourage a vast burgeoning of numerical software. They DID succeed to a considerable extent. Anyway, rounding anomalies that preoccupied all of us in the 1970s afflict only CRAY X-MPs — J90s now.

After decades of war one company, who had gained powerful supplying both sides with weaponary, steps forwards and crushes both warring factions in one swift movement. Using far superior weaponary and AI craft, the company was completely unstoppable and now no one can stand in their way. Thousands began to perish under the iron fist of the company. The people cried out for a saviour, for someone to light this dark hour... and someone DID.

  • Communication+Systems+Simulation

The genesis for this book was my involvement with the development of the SystemView (now SystemVue) simulation program at Elanix, Inc. Over several years of development, technical support, and seminars, several issues kept recur- ring. One common question was, “How do you simulate (such and such)?” The sec- ond set of issues was based on modern communication systems, and why particular developers DID what they DID. This book is an attempt to gather these issues into a single comprehensive source.

The information technology (IT) revolution is surely coming in this century, just as DID the agricultural and industrial revolutions that have already so enriched our lives. As the IT revolution progresses, it is expected that almost all social struc- tures and economic activities will be changed substantially

  • Introduction to Communications Technologies

Our original effort in writing this book was to create a starting point for those in the business community who DID not have a high level of technical expertise but needed to have some understanding of the technical functions of their information and communication technologies (ICT) in a corporate environment. As was true with the first edition of this book, if you are already an engineer, find some other form of pleasure reading—this text is not designed for you!
