this version of the HammerCores by <BR>Altera<SUP>®</SUP> square root
function reference design software works correctly, there may be problems that
we have not encountered. If you have a question or problem that is not answered
by the information provided in this readme.htm file, please contact your Altera
Field Applications Engineer.</P>

Altera<SUP>®</SUP> square root function reference design. </LI>
<LI>The square root function reference design is provided as
encrypted AHDL source code. </LI>
<LI>There is an unencrypted file<B> top_level_rootb.tdf</B>, which
provides an example of how to instantiate the square root function in your
design</LI>
<LI>The information given below assumes you are using the
Quartus<FONT SIZE="2"><SUP>TM</SUP></FONT> version 2000.03 or MAX+PLUS<FONT
SIZE="2"><SUP>®</SUP></FONT> II version 9.6 software.</LI>

<P>The license for the HammerCores by Altera square root function
reference design is free. Before you can use the reference design, you must
copy and paste the license information from the file <B>sqroot_license.txt</B>
into your license file for the MAX+PLUS II and Quartus software.</P>
<H3><A NAME="using">Using the Function </A></H3>
<P>To use the function in the MAX+PLUS II or the Quartus software,
you must specify the function's folder as a user library in the software.</P>
