logarithm function includes information that was not incorporated into the
A-WP-HCORES_COMPAND White Paper. The information given below assumes you are
using the Quartus<FONT SIZE="2"><SUP>TM</SUP></FONT> version 2000.03 or
MAX+PLUS<FONT SIZE="2"><SUP>®</SUP></FONT> II version 9.6 software.</P>

<P>The license for the HammerCores by Altera logarithm function is
free. Before you can use the function, you must copy and paste the license
information from the file <B>compand_license.txt</B> into your license file for
the MAX+PLUS II and Quartus software.</P>
<H3><A NAME="using">Using the Function </A></H3>
<P>To use the function in the MAX+PLUS II or the Quartus software,
you must specify the function's folder as a user library in the software.</P>
