In August of 1992 LTC published Application Note 49, “Illumination Circuitry for Liquid Crystal Displays.” One notable aspect of this event is that it generated more response than all previous LTC application notes combined. This level of interest, along with significant performance advances since AN-49’s appearance, justifies further discussion of LCD backlighting circuitry.

Portable, battery-powered operation of electronic apparatushas become increasingly desirable. Medical, remotedata acquisition, power monitoring and other applicationsare good candidates for batteryoperation. In some circumstances,due to space, power or reliability considerations,it is preferable to operate the circuitry from a single 1.5Vcell. Unfortunately, a 1.5V supply eliminates almost alllinear ICs as design candidates. In fact, the LM10 opamp-reference and the LT®1017/LT1018 comparators arethe only IC gain blocks fully specifi ed for 1.5V operation.further complications are presented by the 600mV dropof silicon transistors and diodes. This limitation consumesa substantial portion of available supply range, makingcircuit design diffi cult. Additionally, any circuit designedfor 1.5V operation mustfunction at end-of-life batteryvoltage, typically 1.3V. (See Box Section, “Componentsfor 1.5V Operation.”)

Digitemp Junior – An RS-232 Port-Powered Digital Thermometer Digitemp Jr. is a device that is designed to measure and report ambient temperature. When connected to an RS-232 port on any PC, it will periodically measure and report in ASCII form the ambient temperature in degrees Celsius. These temperature readings can be monitored with any terminal program. If the terminal program supports capture to disk, the temperature readings can be saved to disk for further analysis with a spreadsheet program or other data analysis tool. The simple ASCII output format of Digitemp Jr. makes it rel- atively easy to write custom software for receiving, recording, and analyzing ambient temperature data. Best of all, Digitemp Jr. requires no external power sup- plies or batteries. It is powered directly by the RS-232 port.

Compared to the traditional color identification circuit， the PACCI adopts digital sensor to detect the color data from external environment and further generate digital color data， which can be processed easily by MCU. In PACCI， the slave is mainly responsible for detecting the color parameters of the corresponding elcreochromic device and further driving it. For the master， which is mainly responsible for the color curve fitting based on the parameters of the electrochromic device， and transmits the fitting parameters to the slave through the bluetooth device. The results show that the PACCI can provide the basis voltage range from -4V to 4V automatically based on the colors of external environment with step as 0.1V to drive the corresponding electrochromic device. Compared to the traditional color recognition circuit， the recognition accuracy and speed of PACCI have been improved significantly.

在研究传统家用燃气报警器的基础上，以ZigBee协议为平台，构建mesh网状网络实现网络化的智能语音报警系统。由于传感器本身的温度和实际环境温度的影响，传感器标定后采用软件补偿方法。为了减少系统费用，前端节点采用半功能节点设备，路由器和协调器采用全功能节点设备，构建mesh网络所形成的家庭内部报警系统，通过通用的电话接口连接到外部的公用电话网络，启动语音模块进行报警。实验结果表明，在2.4 GHz频率下传输，有墙等障碍物的情况下，节点的传输距离大约为35 m，能够满足家庭需要，且系统工作稳定，但在功耗方面仍需进一步改善。 Abstract: On the basis of studying traditional household gas alarm system, this paper proposed the platform for the ZigBee protocol，and constructed mesh network to achieve network-based intelligent voice alarm system. Because of the sensor temperature and the actual environment temperature, this system design used software compensation after calibrating sensor. In order to reduce system cost, semi-functional node devices were used as front-end node, however, full-function devices were used as routers and coordinator，constructed alarm system within the family by building mesh network，connected to the external public telephone network through the common telephone interface, started the voice alarm module. The results indicate that nodes transmit about 35m in the distance in case of walls and other obstacles by 2.4GHz frequency transmission, this is able to meet family needs and work steadily, but still needs further improvement in power consumption.
