Driver（驱动程序）是一个和特定的物理设备(或特定的软件)打交道的程序。这个程序包括一些对此硬件设备有特殊用途的知识，这个硬件设备如何和计算机传输信息，数据格式如何，应该如何初始化，如何中止等类似的问题。在PC上，这类程序通常以DLL文件的形式出现，当然，过去的老驱动程序则是以SYS的形式出现。
