  • Bio Medical CMOS IC

    A major societal challenge for the decades to come will be the delivery of effective medical services while at the same time curbing the growing cost of healthcare. It is expected that new concepts-particularly electronically assisted healthcare will provide an answer. This will include new devices, new medical services as well as networking. On the device side, impressive innovation has been made possible by micro- and nanoelectronics or CMOS Integrated Circuits. Even higher accuracy and smaller form factor combined with reduced cost and increased convenience of use are enabled by incorporation of CMOS IC design in the realization of biomedical systems. The compact hearing aid devices and current pacemakers are good examples of how CMOS ICs bring about these new functionalities and services in the medical field. Apart from these existing applications, many researchers are trying to develop new bio-medical solutions such as Artificial Retina, Deep Brain Stimulation, and Wearable Healthcare Systems. These are possible by combining the recent advances of bio-medical technology with low power CMOS IC technology.

    The idea for this book was born during one of my project-related trips to the beautiful city of Hangzhou in China, where in the role of Chief Architect I had to guide a team of very young, very smart and extremely dedicated software developers and verification engineers. Soon it became clear that as eager as the team was to jump into the coding, it did not have any experience in system architecture and design and if I did not want to spend all my time in constant travel between San Francisco and Hangzhou, the only option was to groom a number of local junior architects. Logically, one of the first questions being asked by these carefully selected future architects was whether I could recommend a book or other learning material that could speed up the learning cycle. I could not. Of course, there were many books on various related topics, but many of them were too old and most of the updated information was either somewhere on the Internet dispersed between many sites and online magazines, or buried in my Brain along with many years of experience of system architecture.

  • 血氧仪核心硬件电路设计及Multisim仿真

    为了实时检测血氧量,能使缺氧特别敏感的脑组织或心脏类疾病患者得到及时治疗,采用近红外双波长透射式光电脉搏血氧测定法,以H桥电路对发射光源进行控制及通用运算放大器搭建滤波电路。运用参数理论计算和计算机仿真结果相对比的方法,通过Mu ltisim软件对所设计电路进行仿真,仿真结果与理论参数计算相吻合,证明了电路参数设计的可行性,为血氧仪的实物制作提供参考。For real-time detection of oxygen saturation for timely treatment of the Brain or heart,which are very sensitive to oxygen inadequacy,the near-infrared wavelengths double photoelectric pulse oximeter transmission method is adopted.The illuminant is controlled with the H bridge circuit and the filter circuit is built with general op-amps.Parameters by theoretical calculation is compared with the computer simulation results in Multisim and satisfactory results are obtained.It is shown that the design of the circuit parameters is feasible and can be a help in making the physical blood-oxygen monitor.
