See the GNU General Public License for more details, www.gnu.org.===========================================================================Prerequisits:You'll need pthreads and svgalib installed in order to compile this. Any recent Linux distribution should have them. You'll also need a recent version of mpg123 in /usr/local/bin to run it.Installation:Just type 'make' to compile.Operation:Use the cursor keys to traverse the directory tree selecting mp3s. Addone to the playlist by selecting it and hitting cursor-right. it will either be added to the playlist or play immediately if there are no entries in the playlist. Hit 'r' or 't' to toggle the focus between thedirectory browser and playlist respectively, 'p' pauses the song and 'f' and 'b' skip forward or backward in the song 'n' skips to the next songin the playlist. PgUp and PgDn almost do what you'd expect. SPACEtoggles the text 'overlay'.Why another mp3 player?I knew of no 320x200 svgalib player and I needed one for my car mp3 player. The player is ideally suited to a 1/4 VGA LCD display on which it is perfectly readable. The player's also good for parties since it gives a nice simple interface, no mice to spill beer on and doesn't require fast hardware, even with visualisation.Credits:Thanks go to Paul Harrison for Synaesthesia, which gave me theidea for this program, I've incorporated most of his code untouched and given those files a 'syn' prefix. Thanks also to Matt's mp3 selector(mms) by Wesley Morgan the source from which gave me plenty of ideas about how to do stuff.TODO:- Slave the screen updates to the visualisation cycle. It's not at the moment, but it's not too noticeable. (fairly trivial)- Read and somehow display mp3 tags. (tricky)- Load and save playlists (trivial)- Allow playing of mp3s with different sample rates. Please email comments/suggestions to smh@N_O_S_P_A_M@dr.comhope you enjoy using VEEJAMP!-Simon Harrison.
