我的推荐信及自评-4(3的原件)
----
Dear professor,
I am writing this letter of recommendation, in support of Mr.linhujushi's ap
plication for admission and financial aid for his study in your program.
Mr. linhujushi was one of the students in my English class, which only accep
ted the best ones out of 2500 freshmen, and had a capacity of only 30 studen
ts. The boy caught my eyes during the first class. His self-introduction was
so marvelous that I was totally impressed by him. The impromptu was well or
ganized, logically coherent and very interesting, and could not be given by
those students from ordinary schools. His spoken English also made me surpri
sed, it was mellifluous and very accurate in pronunciation. Those distinctio
ns dangled my interest to know him more. Then he told us he graduated from C
hongqing Foreign Languages School. Huh! No wonder he was so good at English!
From then on, I began to be familiar with him.
Mr. linhujushi was also very innovative. I asked my students to give duty re
ports before each period of class. The guy once asked me:" Can I bring my vi
olin here because I need to use it during my report?" Wow! He was the first
one I met who dare to bring a violin into the class and play it! I agreed, j
ust told him violin play could be a part during the report, but could not be
the vital part. Then came his masterpiece, the best report I have met. The
report was about the film" Brave Heart", his play was just to the point and
moved us all. He was the first one, and maybe the last one, who could make t
he duty report as entertainment!
Besides playing the violin, the young man also had many other hobbies. He wa
s a good" go" player(a kind of chess). His calligraphy was very good and his
drawings were very beautiful. He also composed old Chinese poems. The pictu
re, along with the poem he composed and written on it, could characterize hi
m as scintillating, because so few could do all the things as good as he did
.If you would have a chance to look at his works, you would also be deeply i
mpressed! But those just embodied one aspect of his all-rounded character. H
e also liked sports very much. Soccer was his favorite, and he also played t
abletennis and tennis. Hardly had I seen a person who had so many hobbies an
d could master all of them well. He must have very good control of his time!

Furthermore, the boy had penetrated view on art, especially on music. He wro
te Art Has Passed Its Prime when he was a sophomore. The argumentation was p
rimarily based on his knowledge of music, and it was just to the point to fu
lly explain its degradation.
Though linhu had so many hobbies, he did not ignore his course work. His sco
res were always top 5 in my English class. He wasn't a bookworm, who took al
l his time studying. As I said above, he had good control of his time, and h
is life was exciting and fruitful.
As to his personality, I would say he is a very kind and warm-hearted person
. One time I asked him to collect money for some textbooks. It was a dull jo
b since you must ask the students one by one, and maybe could not gather all
the money at one time. He accepted the work promptly, and done it very quic
kly. He was also easy to approach, and had many friends in college. Almost a
ll the students in my class became good friends with him.
So I would like to recommend this boy without reservation, and you may find
a pleasant and comfortable experience work with him. If you like to know mor
e, I would offer any information upon request.
