I will surely sponsor your admission
as a graduate student after you
have arrived and can do experimental
work with our happy group."
因为我本科是学化学的,而且还卖了一年的
电脑,现在搞BME,虽然老美10月份来面试过我,
可是他还是不太相信我的科研能力,
尽管我的GRE和托福,it's bullshit.
第一封:
Dear Dr. **:
*** and I are very glad since we have received your lett
ers of invitation and IAP-66 forms. We appreciate your efforts for our chanc
es of researching in your foundation and your kind help of the possible diff
iculties we might encounter during the visa processing.
I am so exhilarated to get this trainee position in your foundation. Firstly
I would like to express my great gratitude to you because of your confidenc
e on my ability. Moreover, I am always longing for this chance since I am aw
are of your pioneering accomplishments in his field by studying your world f
amous articles published in Science, Nature and so on. You have devoted all
yourself into science research more than half a century, accumulated tremend
ous scientific golconda, and won grand respect of researchers in this field
all over the world. I believe that doing research under your instruction wil
l put enormous effects on my career and life.
However, the position you appoint me is temporarily for one year. I am afrai
d that I couldn’t learn that much precious knowledge and technique from you
. As Dr. ** suggests, that my dream of your pupil will become truth if I ca
n complete my Ph.D program under your name because, I will have one of the b
est advisors in the world, have the chance to touch the most advanced device
s and technologies in the world, have adequate time to undertake more resear
ch work under your instruction. And Dr.** also expects that I would contri
bute much endeavor to development of biomedical phontonics guided by you. In
reality this is my dream I cherish deep in my heart because I consider it a
s the uppermost acknowledgement of my potentiality. In addition I have taken
the GRE 、Toefl tests and achieved outstanding results as follows:
GRE: Verbal 790(99%); Analytical: 790(98%); Quantitative: 800(98%)
Toefl: total score 623: 58/68/61 TWE: 4.0
And also I have published several papers with other colleagues’ collaborati
on. Dr.** appraises that I am frequently thinking how to push our research
through and won’t hesitate to put forward my opinions in our seminars once
I get some new ideas. As a matter of fact, some of our research programs gra
nted by the National Natural Science Foundation of China are based on my nov
el proposals. Probably it is my chemistry academic background that helps me
broaden my mind. I realize that the research field into which I am probing b
ears unmatchable challenge. This has inspired me to work much harder with mo
re passion than ever. I do believe that my potential will develop into knowl
edge and my chosen field can be furthered to the most advanced level!
It is necessary to let you know that I cited your opinions and arguments of
the dependency between neurophysiological events and brain functional activi
ty when I revised my paper submitted to Chinese Science Bulletin. In additio
n I referred to those Nature articles you gave us. Here again, I thank you v
ery much for your unselfish help.
Very sincerely yours
****
