I have finished my first contact mail. I intend to send out this mail now an <br>
d then I can make a better choice according to their response. But I'm not s <br>
ure whether it is appropriate regarding its content, could you please check <br>

I am a undergraduate of Zhejiang University in China. I am studying Politic <br>
Science at the Law College and will obtain Bachelor of Law in June 2002. I w <br>
ish to pursue a LL.M. Degree at your department. Before I submit my applicat <br>
ion through the formal channel, I sincerely expect you will kindly reply my <br>
following questions. <br>
1) Is my major qualified for admission? <br>
2) Are there any financial aids provided to LL.M student? <br>
I would be grateful to hear any suggestions from you. <br>

Yeah - what do you intend to do with this contact mail is the question I wan <br>
t to ask after reading your message. <br>
First of all, I'd like to say your initiative is very good. You should try t <br>
o communicate with the admission office and relevant parties with impressive <br>
contents. That will definitely help your application. However, if your cont <br>
act mail is to promote the relationship and to introduce yourself, I'm afrai <br>
d it can't achieve the effect. (If not, what it is supposed to do? Can you e <br>
xplain a bit?) Questions you are asking appear to be far easy. Correct me if <br>
I'm wrong; you'd be easily find the answers if you have done in-depth schoo <br>
l research, as they should be in the application packet or posted in the sch <br>
ool's website. Thus, I doubt you will receive any response or impress anybod <br>
y. (But of course, such a mail won't hurt you either as it may just get igno <br>
red.) <br>
I'd suggest that you do some more school research and try to find some speci <br>
fic person for contact. A mail addressed to 'admission office' won't hit as <br>
much to some real name. It can also be some professors whose concentration y <br>
ou are interested in. You can ask them more interesting questions and build <br>
up the contacts, which later you can include in your personal statement and <br>
thus impress the admission committee! <br>
