Backed up by strong ambition to achieve the very best and a sincere belief <br>
that there is no alternative to hard work I seek the opportunity to pursue <br>
graduate studies at your esteemed University. <br>
<br>
I have done my schooling from St.Joseph's High school, Juhu, Mumbai, which is <br>
known not only for its academic excellence but also for its extra curricular <br>
activities. Having always featured among the top three I passed the Secondary <br>
State Certificate <br>
examination with an overall total of 87.42%. Based on my academic and <br>
cocurricular merit, I managed to secure admission in Sathaye College, one of <br>
the premier educational institutions in Mumbai in the coveted science stream <br>
(with computers as the <br>
vocational subject). In the two years of my junior college life I got an <br>
insight into what I was going to choose my career as. <br>
<br>
<br>
Ever since Chemistry was introduced as a subject it has continued to <br>
fascinate me. In my junior college apart from gaining knowledge from topics <br>
covered in the syllabus, I made it a point to go through extra reading <br>
material in order to understand the <br>
subject to a greater depth. This copped with time to time consolations I had <br>
with my professors helped me in understanding the demands and rigorous of the <br>
field of Chemical engineering. <br>
<br>
This idea was further strengthened when I gained admission in the Bachelor of <br>
engineering (Chemical) course at D.J.Sanghvi College of engineering after I <br>
scored an overall total of 93% in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry at the <br>
Higher Secondary <br>
Examination. In my undergraduate study at D.J. Sanghvi College of engineering <br>
I was introduced to core Chemical subjects like mass transfer operations, <br>
Heat transfer operations, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Chemical Reaction <br>
Kinetics, Polymers as <br>
well as related topics like Computer aided design, Fabrication technology, <br>
Process Simulationand optimization techniques. During the course of study I <br>
have taken special interests in subject like Chemical Reaction engg.and <br>
Polymers (Properties and <br>
processing). <br>

I have always had the nature to explore knowledge beyond course requirements. <br>
This has sometimes put me in a tight spot as regard time management for <br>
studies. However this habit has immensely helped me in research for my final <br>
year project work. In the <br>
final year I undertook the project on the Manufacture of Ammonia Synthesis <br>
gas; which was a truly rewarding experience, since it put to practical use <br>
all the fundamentals, design principles and economic principles. The stint at <br>
R.C.F. Ltd. was also a <br>
rich experience in understanding the Indian Chemical Market. I have dabbled <br>
in almost all kinds of extra- curricular activities ranging from music, <br>
dance, and drama to sports having won prizes and accolades in most of them. <br>
<br>
I have chosen your university because of its highly reputed faculty and the <br>
opportunities it offers for Teaching / research assistantships. I intend to <br>
gain firsthand knowledge and experience under the guidance of your excellent <br>
and well-known faculty. <br>
This I am sure will prepare me to face the challenges thrown up by the <br>
chemical industry, which in India is growing at a tremendous rate and offers <br>
an excellent career prospect. <br>

I do not believe in securing marks just for the sake of scoring high <br>
percentage but am more concerned in the magnitude and quality of the efforts <br>
put in to secure those marks. This attitude will help me in immensely meeting <br>
my goals. If given an <br>
opportunity to study at your esteemed University I am confident that I will <br>
spare no efforts whatsoever to achieve success and in turn be an asset to <br>
your university. I am really looking forward to study at your University. <br>
