Hi,

where can I find a detailed specification on the SAT format in the 
documentation? More specifically I need a list of all supported subtypes 
of spline surfaces in SAT. Thanks.

Hi,

I?m trying to parse a SAT file. (Using c++) and there is basic issue, which
is unclear to me.
In Header of file: ?712 0 4 0?, for instance ? the number 4 should be the
count number of entities in original entities list.
My goal is to verify that file contains the exact number of records and/or
entities declared in header.
In some example files I received, the header contains the value ?1? for this
parameter and the header is followed by few records (terminates with #).
How can I trace the number of records and count it?
An explanation/link/code example will be appreciated.

1st, 10x for your quick answer, my problem is how to make sure I have the
exact number of entities?
If you take a look on this file:

The method is to check for each line if there was no pointer directed to it
in line above?
Like this one: line 6 and 7 doesn't have a pointer directed in to, it only
points to other node..

Hi,

I was thinking implementing it with 2 sets, 1 will hold each
EntitinesCounter, second will hold pointer numbers. Result set will hold the
difference (=number of records)

Attached is a SAT file I received from my client (which is difficult to
debug in quick look)
Can you generate for me a simple file, which have 3 records that use 2-3
entities?

This file seem to be wrong or not generated by ACIS.
Lets look at entities 3 and 7.
The first one belong to lump 1 (the last parameter) and his first face is 4.
The second has and error : 6 parameters are attempted but only 5 are
specified. Next, the first face of this shell is the entity 3 which is
not a face but a shell.

One way to make your code is :

#include <map>
using namespace std;
...
map<long, bool> entites;

long EntityCounter = 0;
For Each Line Starting at body
  entities[EntityCounter++] = false;
  For Each Pointer
    entities[Pointer] = true;
  Next Pointer
Next Line

....

map<long, bool>::iterator i;
for (i = entites.begin(); i != entites.end(); i++) {
  if (i->second) {
    // used entity
  } else {
    // unused entity
  }
}

But keep in your mind that if you want correctly rewrite the SAT file,
each of deleted unused entities shift down the number of succeded
entities. So you have to renumber all the pointers (previous and next).

  I create an arc using api_curve_arc_3pt, but it is shown in several lines.Can i change some parameters to let the arc shown by more small lines and let it seem to be an arc?
