hello :
I have written some code to create a new working coordinate system and 
have no errors, but my application have no feedback, it is that the code doesn't work!
the code is:
	WCS *pWcs=NULL;
	position origin(0,0,0);
	position xpt(1,0,0);
	position ypt(0,1,0);
	WCS* new_wcs=NULL;
	
    StartEntityCreation();
	outcome result = api_wcs_create(origin, xpt, ypt, new_wcs);
    if( result.ok() ) 
	EndEntityCreation2((ENTITY*)new_wcs, result);

Hi All,

You had already solved my main problem, when I was stuck with basic file
writing. So I thought I should ask convey my current problems to you.

Attached is a sat file, which opens very well in HOOPS viewer, but in
CATIA, except back & front faces, all other faces looks slightly
detached from the main polygon.

I think the problem remains with the PLANE-SURFACE definition. I am
using one formula, which takes 3 points as parameters and return the
Center point of plane & a unit vector normal to the plane. I think the
values of unit vector normal is what is creating problem. May be the no.
of decimals.

Please have a look and let me know.

Subject: [Acis-alliance] acis hoops 3d part viewer

Hi!
I have ACIS 7.0 and HOOPS6.0 I ran the acispartviewer.dsw source code in
VC++ 6.0.
It executed without any errors. The graphics window is also opened after
displaying warnings:

1. could not find the registry entries to determine location of part
directory.
2. could not find the registry entries to determine location of your part
viewer.

when I try to open *.SAT or *.hsf file it displays the following warning
twice:

Warning (60/203) from HOOPS routine  'Update_Display_Timed'
    which was called from 'Update_Display' -
    which was called from 'Compute_Transform' -
    which was called from 'Compute_Coordinates' -

And then opens the file window. But only a blank window.

Please suggest me the remedy for this.

Subject: [Acis-alliance] ray fire function of ACIS

Hi, all,

I have a question about the ray fire function in ACIS.
For the ray-surface intersection function ( raytest_face() ),
what is the inside algorithm? Where can I get the code or manual
about this function?

Here is some particular question.
Does it first calculate the axis-aligned bounding boxes of the
surface and test it? (I guess it is.)  And for the real
ray-surface testing (suppose ray hit the bounding box),
dose ACIS use uniform algorithm for any kind of surface or
treat different surfure differently?

If it uses the uniform algorithm, does ACIS use ploygon surface
to represent any curve surface? Then the ray-surface intersection
algorithm change to many ray-polygon intersection?

If it treat different surface seperately, I know there is a
computation tolerance. Then how this tolerance come from?
Does it only really happen for some complicated surface like
spline patch surface? (Because I cannot see why there should
be a tolerance for a simple ray-plane intersection test.)
Or, There IS a tolerance for even simple surface ray test?
Maybe because the surface parameter for ray-surface test
already have tolerance in it?
