thanks for all answers.
There seems to be also an "interactive hidden line" functionality.
What is the difference to PHL? Are the functions the same with less
precision?
 
Could it be a solution to try the interactive hidden line instead of PHL?

Yes, I had similar problems.

The PHL is no longer shipped with V14 if you want hidden line functionality
you have to pay for PHL V5 which is a separate component. If you are going
to pay for this functionality you might want to look around, D-Cubed provide
similar functionality, the HLM (Hidden Line Manager) built on top of  Acis
and there are probably others as well.

Here is a copy of an email I got from support@spatial about this issue.

PHL is discontinued in R14 and hence the headers and the libraries were
not shipped in R14 . 

They go on to state that :

an email and letter was sent out to all our customers with R13 release.
Further in this email we recommend customers to evaluate PHLV5 . Further in
this email we recommend customers to evaluate PHLV5 .

Unfortunately my application refuses to build. The following header files

What happened to them?
I've seen on the Spatial webpage that there is a product called 3D PHL V5.
Are we supposed to buy this one, when we want to use ACIS14 with our
application?
Are there other solutions?

Hello,


I'm searching for a possibility to get virtual edges of a body.

e.g. a cylinder has 2 real edges, which I can get from the BODY object
by an api-function.

The acis3dt application displays this edges - I think it's a part of the
hoops library.

Is there any possiblity to get the virtual edges by the acis modeller,
too?

I know the technics of projections, but didn't find a function to
project a body to a plane area (till now)
