ha_bridge, and VC++ correctly tells you that it's missing. ACIS R11 -- HOOPS 8.0 works after a few modifications. The big change here is that Spatial moved all their headers and libraries. This greatly simplifies ACIS's project settings. You need to update the acispartviewer project settings accordingly. You can also develop in VS.NET, if you (a) get the ACIS R11 .NET libraries and (b) update the HOOPS ACIS AppWizard's skeleton files to use the R11 directories. ACIS R11 -- HOOPS 9.0 I don't know yet. I just downloaded HOOPS 9 this morning. Haven't tested it yet. AFAIK, Spatial still provides only HOOPS 8 on their own download site. Your best bet is to either upgrade to ACIS R11, or downgrade to HOOPS-700. If you really want to use HOOPS 8.0 with ACIS 8.0, you probably need to grab HOOPS 7 anyways, and copy its ha_bridge component into HOOP 8, then update your acispartviewer project settings. Be prepared to do some minor tweaking. N.B. I got both A8-H7 and A11-H8 .NET working. I can send the relevant files on request.--Eric WangCAD Lab, School of Mechanical Engineering, Sungkyunkwan UniversityFrom mejhj at hit.edu.cn Sat Aug 16 19:25:51 2003From: mejhj at hit.edu.cn (=?gb2312?B?vqO7s764?=)Date: Sat Aug 16 08:11:37 2003Subject: [Acis-alliance] header intactMessage-ID: <003e01c363e0$c4c2c9f0$0e64640a@jhj>thanks-------------- next part --------------An HTML attachment was scrubbed...URL: http://lists.cs.columbia.edu/pipermail/acis-alliance/attachments/20030816/d9be8aec/attachment.htmFrom josecegri at myrealbox.com Sun Aug 17 13:39:40 2003From: josecegri at myrealbox.com (pepillo)Date: Sun Aug 17 06:40:10 2003Subject: [Acis-alliance] bs3_surface_* questionMessage-ID: <200308171239.40761.josecegri@myrealbox.com>hi!I need some help with a question about nurbs curves and surfaces. Actually I'm creating them with the nurbs api bs3_surface_* and bs3_curve_* and this return me a bs3_surface or a bs3_curve with the data of my surfaces or curves, but actually i need to apply transforms to them an store/restore to/from a file, so I guess I need to store the surfaces or curves on a ENTITY derived class. Can someone help me? How can I put an bs3_curve into an entity derived-class?Should I create my nurbs objects in any other way?I'll be eternally grateful to someone that can help :-)I'm using ACIS Version 7, a bit old maybe as I think R11 is available.ByeJoseFrom gaozhan at hkusua.hku.hk Mon Aug 18 00:35:38 2003From: gaozhan at hkusua.hku.hk (Gao Zhan, Jimmy)Date: Sun Aug 17 11:40:39 2003Subject: [Acis-alliance] transformationMessage-ID: <000001c364d5$36c35b10$5e570893@minabunny>Hi, all, 1. I am confused with the two acis functions: api_transform_entity() andapi_apply_transf(). They are all used for transform objects. Theirfunctions and behavior look the same. Are they really the same? I thinkthey must have some differences. 2. In openGL, the transformation is sequence based. Different sequenceof rotation and translation transformation makes a different operation. It seems to me that in acis, the sequence of sequence of rotation andtranslation transformation does not matter. Even if I shift thesequence, the ending is the same. Is that true? As I read the documentation on api_transform_entity, it does two thingsthat api_apply_transf doesn't: A. It transforms non-BODY entities. api_apply_transf is for modifyingthe TRANSFORM object that a BODY contains. api_transform_entity will change the TRANSFORM of the BODY, andwill change the geometry of any non-BODY entity it encounters. B. It can perform non-uniform scaling. api_apply_transf simply doesn'tdo this. 2. Believe me, the order of operations does matter. Period. It is afundamental property of the mathematics. Now it might be that you find an example where this doesn't appear to be the case(e.g. two translations are communative), but it does not hold in general.
