Hi All,
this question might sound very naive, still please reply
I have a bunch of ACIS 7.0 applications and i want to convert them to ACIS
15
All these applications are MFC based and I understand that ACIS 15 now uses
HOOPS framework.
Has anyone tried converting the MFC applications to later versions of ACIS?
These applications are too involved to separate the MFC and ACIS
functionalities.
Please let me know if there is any solution to this problem.

Hello,

I downloaded Acis for evaluation.
I am trying to separate 2 bodies after a non-regularized unite (I didn't see 
any api function).
I do a non-reg. unite of 2 cubes with a face overlapping (a face in each 
cube with same coordinates).
I obtain a body with an internal double-sided face.
I now try to separate the 2 cubes :
1- I store the partner of each coedge in the double-sided face
2- I remove the double-sided face
3- Now I have to separate the 2 cubes to obtain 2 open cubes :
    for each stored coedge ("around the deleted face") :
    a- I try to duplicate the edge 
(api_make_edge_from_curve(&e->geometry()->equation(), new_e))
    b- I set the coedge's partner to NULL
    c- I try to set the same vertex for all the edges around this vertex 
(example : edge->set_start(other_edge->start()) )

I have some questions :
- Is it the good approach to separate the bodies ?
- How to duplicate the edge (step a) ?
- How to share the same vertex for all the edges at that vertex (step c) ? 
(I suppose that I have to do that ?)
  I probably can't use api_get_coedges from the vertex because during my 
modifications the topologycal structure is not up-to-date ?
  When I do edge->set_start(...) does the modeler delete the previous vertex 
?

I am moving my ACIS(Version7)-MFC application from NT2K to XP. The code
compiles and links and runs: but it cannot open original sat files or save
newly create entities. It crashes at the API function api_save_entity_list.
Any input or hints are highly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

you need to ensure that your application is linked against the same
C-runtime libs as the ACIS libraries.
