     i saw ur message in the forum regrading finding the centroid of polygon,i am also in need of finding the centroid of the polygon as part of my project given the x,y coordinates of all vertices in the polygon.
    will u plz help me in this  regard?

   As Nilesh pointed out in his second email, the answer can be found at

if x[], y[], & z[] are coordinates of vertices of a 4-sided polygon the answer is found by using simple expressions for area and centroid of the two triangles that make up the four-sided polygon.

  a=1; b=5; c=6; d=2;  // points #1, #5, #6 and #2

// Centroid of the first triangle
  xc1 = (x[a]+x[b]+x[c])/3.0;
  yc1 = (y[a]+y[b]+y[c])/3.0;
  zc1 = (z[a]+z[b]+z[c])/3.0;

Hi,

I've modified qtacishoopsrefapp application that comes with the
ACIS/HOOPS package so by clicking on an EDGE entity, a user could change
the EDGE's properties.

A problem that I'm encountering is that after the update, the edge does
not appear on the screen (HQWidget). Even though it is not visible, it
is there (checked by saving and re-opening the file).

This is what I'm using at the moment:

HC_Open_Segment_By_Key([...]->GetModelKey());
HC_Open_Segment("");

HA_Render_Entity(new_edge);
[...]->AddAcisEntity(new_edge);

HC_Close_Segment();
HC_Close_Segment();

[..]->Update();


Any suggestions/corrections?

Subject: [Acis-alliance] Sweeping bodys

Dear ACIS experts,

is there an acis method that sweeps a whole body/entity along a path or
rotates around an axis? 
I looked through all the sweep options and could only find functionality
to sweep planar faces or wire bodys. 
How to sweep a simple cube along a path?
Is there any method to find the actual (non-planar) profile of a body
that creates the final sweep surface? In the general case this is not a
trivial planar section of the body.

I guess api_silhouette_edges could be used for that... using
api_silhouette_edges with a projection parallel to the tangent of the
sweep path could be used to find the profile of a general body at every
point on the sweep path. A continuous "hull surface" of all the
different profiles in all points of the sweep path would be the desired
surface. Is there maybe an efficient acis method to do that?

Maybe you know a more efficient way to do it.

"baseutil.lib"
Error executing link.exe.

I have ACIS R11. Does anybody know what the problem
is? Is it anything to do with baseutil.lib being
replaced by SpaBase
