To improve application portability, the VxWorks kernel, <i class="i">wind</i>, includes both POSIX interfaces and interfaces designed specifically for VxWorks.</p><dd><p class="Body"><a name="83561"> </a>This manual (especially in this chapter) uses the qualifier "Wind" to identify facilities designed expressly for use with the VxWorks <i class="i">wind</i> kernel.
