The target server owner can unlock it, but then any Tornado tool that attached to it has exactly the same file access permissions as the target server owner. A target server started on UNIX is automatically owned by the user ID that started it. A target server started on Windows is assigned to the variable <b class="symbol_UC">WIND_UID</b>, which must be set as described in <a href="c-filesys7.html#87314"><i class="title">Setting WIND_UID on Windows Hosts</i></a>.</div>

<dd><p class="Body"><a name="87316"> </a>The variable <b class="symbol_UC">WIND_UID</b> must be set to use TSFS with WindView on Windows hosts. There are two ways to set it:</p>

<ul class="Bullet" type="disc"><li><a name="87317"> </a>Use the System Properties dialog box, accessible through the Control Panel, to set the value of <b class="symbol_UC">WIND_UID</b>. This technique makes the value available to all tools in your environment. </li></ul>

<ul class="Bullet" type="disc"><li><a name="87318"> </a>Type a unique number or string at the DOS prompt:</li></ul>

Note that this method sets <b class="symbol_UC">WIND_UID</b> only for tools that are started from this DOS prompt.</div>
