The target server owner can unlock it, but then any Tornado tool that attached to it has exactly the same file access permissions as the target server owner. A target server started on UNIX is automatically owned by the user ID that started it. A target server started on Windows is assigned to the variable <b class="symbol_UC">WIND_UID</b>, which must be set as described in <a href="c-filesys7.html#87314"><i class="title">Setting WIND_UID on Windows Hosts</i></a>.</div></td></tr><tr valign="top"><td></td><td><hr></td></tr><tr valign="middle"><td colspan="20"></td></tr></table></p callout></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans"><h5 class="HU"><i><a name="87314">Setting WIND_UID on Windows Hosts</a></i></h5></font><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Body"><a name="87316"> </a>The variable <b class="symbol_UC">WIND_UID</b> must be set to use TSFS with WindView on Windows hosts. There are two ways to set it:</p></dl><dl class="margin"><p class="listspace"><ul class="Bullet" type="disc"><li><a name="87317"> </a>Use the System Properties dialog box, accessible through the Control Panel, to set the value of <b class="symbol_UC">WIND_UID</b>. This technique makes the value available to all tools in your environment. </li></ul></p><p class="listspace"><ul class="Bullet" type="disc"><li><a name="87318"> </a>Type a unique number or string at the DOS prompt:</li></ul></p><dl class="margin"><dl class="margin"><dd><pre class="Code3"><b><a name="87319"></b><tt class="output">%</tt><b> set WIND_UID=<i class="i">num</i></a></b></pre></dl></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><div class="Indent"><a name="87320"> </a>If you choose this option, you must set <b class="symbol_UC">WIND_UID</b> before starting both Tornado and the target server because both must have <b class="symbol_UC">WIND_UID</b> set to the same value.
