Similarly, program listings and data-inspection windows provide an immediate visual context for the crucial portions of your application. </p><dd><p class="Body"><a name="83927"> </a>For complex or unpredictable debugging needs, the command-line interface gives you full access to a wealth of specialized debugging commands.You can extend or automate command-line debugger interactions by using the Tcl scripting interface that allows you to develop custom debugger commands (see <a href="c-debugger1.html#91661"><i class="title">8.1 Introduction</i></a>).</p><dd><p class="Body"><a name="83928"> </a>The underlying debugging engine is an enhanced version of GDB, the portable symbolic debugger from the Free Software Foundation (FSF).
