Note that using the title bar close button (<b>x</b>) merely hides the window; it does not stop the target server.</li></ul></p><p class="listspace"><ul class="Bullet" type="disc"><li><a name="87315"> </a>Selecting the <b class="guiLabel"><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Shutdown</font></b> option from the context menu for the target server icon in the Windows taskbar (the tooltip for the icon displays the name of the target server; see <a href="c-tools3.html#89462"><i class="title">5.3 Target Server Icon and Log Console Window</i></a>).</li></ul></p></dl></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="table" callout><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr valign="top"><td valign="top" width="40"><br><img border="0" alt="*" src="icons/warning.gif"></td><td><hr><div class="CalloutCell"><a name="89945"><b class="symbol_UC"><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">WARNING: </font></b></a>Close any Tornado tools that use a particular target before you kill it. Killing a target server does not immediately destroy any attached tools, but the tools lose the ability to interact with the target.
