Once the event is selected, a single vertical line appears on the view graph at the instant when the selected event occurred. The vertical line "snaps" to the nearest event. It lists all the instrumented information for the event. In addition, WindView initializes the search fields in the upper portion of the dialog box with the event type, context, and object ID (if you are using AIL logging) of the selected event. You can search for similar events by clicking the <b class="guiLabel"><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Lock</font></b> box to the right of each field you wish to set criteria for and then clicking <b class="guiLabel"><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Prev</font></b> or <b class="guiLabel"><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Next</font></b>. </p><dd><p class="Body"><a name="86170"> </a>You can also use the <b class="guiLabel"><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Show Event</font></b> dialog box to search for other events. The <b class="guiLabel"><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Event</font></b> and <b class="guiLabel"><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Context</font></b> selection boxes have drop-down lists which include every event type and every context that occurs in the active log. However, in the view graph these events are of specific types. For example, you may have an<b class="symbol_lc"> intEnt-8</b> event, meaning that your application has passed control to interrupt level 8, or you may have an event called <b class="symbol_lc">user10</b>. You will not be able to call up the general Event Dictionary entry using the <b class="guiLabel"><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Help</font></b> item in the event pop-up menu.
