This assumes
(a) - you have copied your map and other files onto the TomTom and have been told on switching the TomTom on that the map needs to be activated. Note the number you are given - it is 2 groups of 5 characters/digits.
and
(b) - you have downloaded the zip Keygenerator_TomTom_GO_ONE.zip
Ready ?
1. connect the TomTom to your PC, and switch it on
1(a) when it asks do you want to connect to your PC, say yes
1(b) TomTom Home will open - you can minimise it - you will not be using it
2. open windows explorer - Your TomTom will be shown as a disk drive
3. Create a folder in C:\ and call it keygen.(you can use any name)
4. (a)Copy the zip file "Keygenerator_TomTom_GO_ONE.zip" into this folder
(b)unzip it
you now have this file - manual.txt - and key.exe in the folder C:\keygen
(c)in windpows explorer click the TomTom drive, then click on the folder that has your new map in it
5. Copy your (mapname).mid file into the folder C:\keygen
6. open command prompt "Start-Programs-Accessories-command prompt
now you will have C:\> in command prompt.
8. type: cd keygen
you will then see c:\keygen>
9. type : Key.exe (filename).mid
example....... key.exe Western_Europe.mid - Don't forget the space between .exe and North.
the program asks you to Enter Device ID: - this is the the number the TomTom gave you above (a)
10. enter this number - take care with this - use capitals
The program will display the activation code for Palm, Pocket, One and Go
- take care reading them - the U and V are easily mistaken
Enter the code into the TomTom, and you are done, except for backing up
