<p><font face="Arial" color="#000000">正常月经周期的维持，需依赖下丘脑一垂体一卵巢功能的协调和子宫内膜对性激素的周期性反应。上述环节中任何一处发生问题，即可能引起闲经。闭经患者绝大多数天排卵，因而不能受孕。</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial" color="#000000"> 除生理性闭经(见于青春期前女孩、绝经期后妇女和孕妇)外，其他的闭经皆屑病理性的，其原因如下：</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial" color="#000000"> (1)子宫性闭经：由于子宫内膜对激素不起反应或反应低下而引起。多见于子宫内膜结核、子宫内膜损伤(如刮宫后子宫内股不再生)、子宫内膜粘连及发育不良等。这种病人即使通过人工的激素调节(人工周期)，子宫内膜也不会脱落出血。</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial" color="#000000"> (2)卵巢性闭经：主要由卵巢疾病所引起。由于雌激素水平过低，不能促使子宫内膜生长，如先天性卵巢发育不良、卵巢早衰、无反应卵巢等。这些人体内雌激素水平低而促性腺激素却正常或偏高，可应用人工周期治疗。</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial" color="#000000"> (3)垂体性闭经：闭经与垂体功能不足有关，可见于颅脑损伤、席汉氏综合征、颅脑部放射治疗后等。</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial" color="#000000"> (4)下丘脑性闭经：问题出在下丘脑，可以是神经系统器质性疾病，如炎症、肿瘤、缺血等造成的，也可以是精神因素、环境改变、全身疾病、营养不良及药物影响造成的。<br />
