<font face="Arial" color="#000000"> 任何手术皆有可能发生并发症或危险的情况，虽然人工流产只是一般所谓的小手术，但并非简单的手术。粗暴或不正确的操作往往招来严重的后遗症：<br />
1、子宫穿孔：妊娠周数愈大，危险机率愈高；流产次数愈多，穿孔机会也愈大。其它如子宫位置、形状异常或以前动过手术的子宫（如剖腹产或肌瘤切除）皆有较大的穿孔机会。<br />
2、子宫颈或内膜粘黏：在进行子宫扩刮术时，如果刮的太粗鲁，导致子宫颈或内膜受伤、发炎，就有可能产生术后的子宫颈或内膜粘黏、并会引起月经异常，如无月经或月经量过少。严重者会在以后产生不育症的情况。<br />
3、不完全流产：如果手术施行不完全，少量胎儿组织残留于子宫内，可能影响子宫收缩而造成持续出血或造成粘黏、感染等情况。最好再仔细做一次手术清除残余的组织。子宫的位置或形状不正常，一般比较容易造成此后遗症。<br />
4、细菌感染：如果器械消毒不完全，或是手术者本身未注意无菌过程，即可能造成子宫内感染，甚至继续往上传染侵犯输卵管及骨盆腔，严重时会造成以后容易宫外孕或不孕的后果。<br />
5、子宫颈损伤：在扩张子宫颈口的过程，如果不小心，或扩张速度太快，都有可能造成子宫颈的损伤，并造成以后怀孕较容易流产的情形，尤其是第一次怀孕或尚未生育过的妇女比较容易发生。<br />
6、实行麻醉时可能造成吸入性肺炎或呼吸停止的状况。<br />
7、口服药物流产方式，虽然没有上述的后遗症，且能避免一些妇女身心伤害的副作用，但仍需注意有可能大量出血及不完全流产的问题。<br />
药物流产适用于停经49天内的妇女。米非司酮的不全流产和流产失败率约10%，药物流产的副作用有恶心，呕吐、头晕和乏力等类早孕反应，下腹痛明显增高，药物流产后出血时间长，平均为半个月左右，有的长达1-2个月之久，并有潜在大出血的危险；在进行药物流产中，部分孕妇停经在40天之内，此时临床难以确诊是宫外还是宫内妊娠，因此有时误诊而使用药物流产，以后发生内出血休克需要抢救。<br />
