<P> 一个国家的顶级域名，是这个国家互联网发展的晴雨表，是信息化的重要指标。2005年，中国的CN域名蓬勃发展，CN域名注册量超越百万，在世界排名也从年初的第13位上升到目前的第6位。2005年，注册CN域名成为互联网发展的一大亮点。2006年，随着互联网的快速发展，中国CN域名相关法律环境、应用环境的改善，有理由相信<!--ADV_CONTENT-->，CN域名的发展将迎来又一高峰。
<P><STRONG> 政策支持，共襄百万CN盛举</STRONG>
<P> 作为我国的国家顶级域名，CN域名被喻为互联网上的“中国标识”，我国政府对其发展一直给予高度重视。信息产业部多次强调，要加大国家顶级域名的推广力度，增强国际竞争力。在2005年3月的两会期间，全国人大代表和政协委员也纷纷呼吁我国网站，特别是关系到国计民生的重要网站，都应该从国家信息安全和经济安全的高度，注册、使用CN域名，并把CN域名作为网站的标识加以公布和宣传，引导网民使用。
<P> 在政府的大力号召支持下，中国互联网络信息中心作为我国域名注册管理机构，多管齐下，简化了CN域名的注册手续并在2005年将CN域名价格调至COM域名价格之下，大大提高了CN域名的竞争力，直接拉动CN域名的快速增长，成为CN域名突破百万的重要因素之一。在信息产业部的统一领导和部署下，2005年，中国互联网络信息中心在全国完成四个CN域名顶级节点的升级部署，CN域名解析速度更快，安全更有保障，改善了我国互联网络基础设施使用性能。
<P> 与此同时，政府机构还以实际行动注册、启用、推广CN域名。继全国人大网（www.npc.gov.cn或www.npc.cn）正式开通之后，中国中央政府门户网（www.gov.cn）同样以CN域名作为网站唯一标识；以新华网、人民网、光明网为代表的国家主流媒体网站，也纷纷启用并大力推广CN域名。事实证明，CN域名已成为我国政府、媒体、机构等重要网站的首选，这不仅标志着我国电子政务水平和社会信息化水平的提高，为我国互联网信息安全建立了强大保障，更为国内掀起CN域名应用大潮起到了积极的示范作用。
