<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;胡锦涛总书记关于“八荣八耻”的讲话在高校师生中引起强烈反响。济南大学宣传部部长高志刚认为，讲话阐明了社会主义荣辱观的深刻内涵，体现了社会主义基本道德规范和社会风尚的本质要求，是中华民族传统美德和时代精神的有机结合。郑州大学新闻与传播学院院长董广安教授说，现在一些学生没有远大的志向，只看到眼前利益和经济利益，在校不爱参加集体活动，找工作时挑肥拣瘦、嫌苦怕累，不愿到祖国和人民最需要的艰苦地方去。青年是祖国的未来，构建社会主义和谐社会要从加强青少年的理想信念教育入手。中国科学技术大学党委书记郭传杰说，一个国家、一个民族要发达兴盛起来，全民都要树立以崇尚科学为荣、以愚昧无知为耻的观念。不崇尚科学就没有希望，愚昧无知必然会落后挨打。 
<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;南京大学哲学系姚润皋教授认为，胡锦涛总书记关于社会主义荣辱观的讲话对于高校培养高等人才具有非常重要的指导意义。高校的任务是培养出高质量的人才，这个“高质量”不仅指学业成绩的优异，同时还包括健康的心理、高尚的思想。“接受过高等教育的人应该是热爱祖国、乐于为人民服务的人，我们高校教师的任务不仅在于传道、授业、解惑，还要帮助学生立德、立志！” 
<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;全国人大代表、西南交通大学教授傅勇林说，正确的价值观可以起到振奋人心、凝聚人心的作用。我国社会主义建设还处于初级阶段，刚刚取得阶段性成果，面临新的国际国内形势，我们一定要有深刻的忧患意识和高度的责任感，要像总书记所倡导的那样，树立艰苦奋斗的精神。艰苦奋斗不仅仅是勤俭节约，它是一个民族的意志和品质。
