2. Description
==============

This basic DICOM reader shows how to read and display
a medical DICOM image.

Chris Rorden would be very interested to hear of any
improvements you have added to the source.

3. Installation
===============

Nothing to install. Compile and run the program.

5. Known bugs & problems
========================

You can only display some of the DICOM images. 
There are many different DICOM dialects.
However, the reader should tell you why it cannot view files.
Current limitations:
 - Does not read encapsulated files
 - The 12-bit and big-endian conversion is largely untested
