This file keeps track of changes/bugs found in the Inet program.  The number of
``*'' indicates the significance of the change with 5 ``*'' indicating a major
change and ``*'' a minor update.


***** updated 2/1/01

Inet 2.1 changes the way the number of nodes between 2 and 20 are generated.

Instead of relying on the exponential growth law I from our observations,
we compute the constant C by normalizing the number of total nodes with degrees
between 2 and 20 with the sum of powers of degrees from 2 to 20.  The 
computation is changed because the older version is not able to generate enough 
nodes between degrees 2 and 20.  The explanation is that the exponential growth
law I is not a perfect model for the growth of C and can not generate enough
nodes as the size of network increases.

Inet 2.1 also eliminates some unnecessary output messages and inappropriate
punctuation marks.

Thanks to Zhao Yi Xin ([e-mail]) for uncovering a bug
in computing the number of bidirectional edges in degree.c.  This cause the
degree of the highest degree node to be augmented by 1 incorrectly, which will
leave one node (not necessarily the node with the highest degree) with one 
unfilled degree.

Thanks to  Shi Zhou ([e-mail]) for reporting the existence of
redundant links in the output.  This was cause by a bug in phase III of the
topology generation, when a previously connected neighbor whose degree is
not yet filled is mistakingly added again to the list of candidate to select 
from.  We do not believe this will change the simulation result qualitatively
due to the small number of redundant links.
