Program description
-------------------

      USB Safely Remove  is a convenient and multifunctional replacement for the 
      standard Safely Remove Hardware icon. Safely Remove has been developed for 
      those people who extensively use USB devices and do not want to waste time 
      on routine operations. The program completely replaces the features of the 
      standard Safely Remove Hardware icon and also implements a number of 
      unique features.
      
         1. You can customize the Quick Stop Menu (shown when you left-click 
           the "USB Safely Remove" icon in the system tray):
            * Remove a USB device you never need to stop from the menu. For 
              example, ADSL modem, USB scanner, etc.;
            * Replace the neutral default device name with a more familiar name 
              (for example, "John's 2GB Flash Drive" instead of simply 
             "FlashDrive").
            * Change device icon
         2. You can stop a USB device by pressing a shortcut key while working 
           in any application.
         3. USB Safely Remove automatically removes its icon from the 
         notification area when there are no devices to be stopped. 
         Thus, you can customize the program so the icon appears only when you 
         need it.
         4. You can specify applications or sounds that will be launched 
         every time you connect or stop a device.

Installation
------------

      * Copy the distribution kit content into the temporary directory and run 
	    USBSafelyRemoveSetup.exe.

      * Note: If you've got USB Safely Remove not from its web page, but from
	the other source (magazine CD or some software library), please
	visit its home page at www.safelyremove.com - you'll probably find 
	the later version.

      * If you need to reinstall USB Safely Remove or Windows and want to save 
	your settings, run batch-file SaveSettings.bat (you'll find it in the 
	USB Safely Remove application directory, usually in 
  C:\Program Files\USB Safely Remove) before. After reinstallation run 
  RestoreSettings.bat to restore previously saved settings.

Uninstallation
--------------

      * Run Uninstall from USB Safely Remove group.

        Important ! You must exit USB Safely Remove before run Uninstall. 
	      Otherwise some files and registry settings could not be removed.


Help system
-----------

      * USB Safely Remove help system uses latest HTML Help technology
	for easy searching answer for your questions. HTML Help support is
	included in latest versions (at least 4.0) of Microsoft Internet 
	Explorer,  Windows 2000/XP

Minimum System Requirements
---------------------------

      * IBM PC compatible computer with USB support 
	5MB of free memory 
	About 2MB of free hard disk space 
	Windows 2000 or Windows XP 
	A mouse

      * Safely Remove is a "TryBeforeYouBuy" software. 
        It's fully functional during trial period.

    	- Program version (from About dialog) 
	- Windows version (including service packs and other fixes installed), US or international, OEM or not

        If you're reporting about program error, please attach the log file "usbsafelyremove.log.txt".
	The simlest way to get this file: start USB Safely Remove and go to the "About" page. 
        Click the "Open the Log file directory".
	Also you can get the Log file directly from the:
        "c:\Documents and Settings\<Your_user_name>\Application Data\USBSafelyRemove\" directory.
        Note: this directory sometimes is hidden. Don't forget to enable "show hidden and system files" option.
 
	It's also may be useful to restore your configuration on the our computer. 
	In the USB Safely Remove directory there is SaveSettings.bat. 
	Run it, and it creates USBSafelyRemoveSettings.reg. 
	Attach this reg-file to your report email.
