This document describes how to change Mozilla FireFox browser so that it does not maintain a history

Hacking Mozilla FireFox to stop it from keeping a history of visited URL's
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Problem: You need to maintain privacy about which URLs you have visted using
Mozilla FireFox. However FireFox maintains a dropdown combo list of the last
12 sites you have visited.

Here's how to make sure that it stops maintaining this list:-

1) Open FireFox.
2) In the address field (where you would normally type "http://whatever/blah"),
   type in "about:config" (without the quotes).
3) A warning will be displayed: "This might void your warranty!".
4) Click on the button that says "I'll be careful, I promise!".
5) A list of configurable preferences will be displayed.
6) Scroll down to the entry "browser.urlbar.maxRichResults" (usually set to 12).
7) Right-click on the entry and on the resultatnt popup menu select "Modify" and
   change the value to -1.
8) Restart FireFox.

Now FireFox will no longer keep any history of your visited URLs.
