Why Code Co-op?
<hr>
<em>Who needs Version Control?</em> First of all, everybody who <b>collaborates</b> on any type of project involving <b>text files</b> (source code in any programming language, web pages in HTML, etc.) <b>and binary files</b> (.gif, .doc, .jpg etc). But even if you're the only developer, a version control system gives you the advantage of tracking and remembering your changes. It frees your creativity by letting you make sweeping modifications and then change your mind and go back to a previous version.
<p>
<em>Who needs Code Co-op</em> as their Version Control System? Anybody who doesn't have a huge LAN with dedicated servers and a budget to match. Code Co-op will work under most austere conditions. If your computers are networked together, it will synchronize projects by copying change scripts between machines. If you don't have a network, it will use your e-mail program to perform synchronization. It will even let you carry change scripts on a floppy from the office to your home or from the desktop to a laptop.

<em>Code Co-op offers many benefits</em> that you don't typically realize with other VCSs. You can collaborate with developers on and off site by using your existing infrastructure. There is no need to purchase a costly server system. Also, development doesn't have to stop when your away from the network.
