U-disk reference design

This directory contains the run-time object file (project.obj) for the USB disc R/W example and also includes the run-time object file combined with the uPSD34xx related disk content in another object file (project_with_disk_content.obj).  Using PSDsoft Express with an RLINK-ST (USB to JTAG dongle), an object file can be programmed into the uPSD34xx device on the target DK3400.  

To use PSDsoft Express along with RLINK-ST to program the OBJ file into the DK3400, follow the instructions below:

1. Install the latest version of PSDsoft Express with support for the RLINK-ST dongle if it is not already installed.

2. Ensure that the DK3400 is configured for Mode 2, uPSD plus embedded RLINK (see the DK3400 User's Manual).  Connect a USB cable from the embedded RLINK (eRLINK) USB connector on the DK3400 to the host's USB port.

3. Power up the DK3400 

4. Launch PSDsoft express.

5. Click cancel when asked to start a new or open an existing project.  If a project is already open, close it.

6. Click on the JTAG ISP box in the Design Flow window to open up the JTAG-ISP Operations window.

7. In the box labeled Step 1, use the Browse button to select the OBJ file to be programmed into the uPSD34xx.

8. Click on the HW Setup button at the bottom of the window to view the Hardware Settings.

9. Select RLink in the Hardware Selection window if it is not already selected.

10. Click OK.

11. In the box labeled Step 2, click on the Execute button.

12. If the device is not blank, a message will pop up saying that the device is not blank.  Click on Yes to do a full chip erase operation.

13. Various messages will appear in the log window as the device is programmed and verified.  The final message will indicate that the program/verify operation is complete.

14. The application code is now programmed into the device and is running.  Connect the DK3400's uPSD USB connector (labeled uPSD) to the host's USB port and the DK3400 will function as a USB R/W disc.
