📁 RayleighFiles: Rayleigh channel simulation

The contents of this folder are made freely available to the
public for non-commercial use, on an "as is" basis, and no
responsibility is assumed by the author for any errors.
The paper that describes the design procedure followed is
also included.

Contents:

1) DesignDopplerFilter.m
------------------------
The main design file, one can use it to design a Doppler filter,
as described in the paper, but it is not needed if all a user
wants is to use the ready-made Rayleigh fading simulator.
It uses the file "design_ellips.m".

2) testRayleigh.m
-----------------
This will plot and report some characteristic numbers about
the fading waveform generated from the C++ code as it is.
It plots autocorrelation of the fading waveform, level crossing
rates, and reports other statistical characteristics.

3) rayleigh.pdf
---------------
This is the .pdf file of the paper that was submitted (and accepted)
for the 2003 IEEE Globecom. The design procedure and background of
the routines are thoroughly explained there.
The reference for the paper is:
C. Komninakis, "A Fast and Accurate Rayleigh Fading Simulator",
in the General Conference of IEEE Globecom 2003, San Francisco, CA,
Dec. 1-5, 2003.

4) RayleighCpp
--------------
This is a directory that includes a C++ project, which generates
a Rayleigh (flat) fading waveform. The main files are obviously
flat_Rayleigh.cpp and runRayleigh.cpp. You can use them as they are.

5) design_iirlpnorm.m
---------------------
I haven't used this file for any design in the C++ code, but
it performs by-and-large the same design as DesignDopplerFilter.m,
using a Matlab ready-made function, and not my Ellipsoid
iteration. I only discovered about this ready made Matlab function
"iirlpnorm" after the acceptance of the paper at Globecom, so
I'm just including this for completeness.
