<a name="1215072"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">where <font size=2 face=Courier><strong><em>mfn</em></strong></font> is a function returning a <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>long int</strong></font> (which is always ignored) and taking an <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>_ST_mutex op</strong></font> (to specify locking or unlocking) and a <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>void*</strong></font> (ignored) as parameters. The <font size=2 face=Courier><strong><em>mfn</em></strong></font> should lock and unlock to protect exceptions. An appropriate semaphore-like construct should be used by <font size=2 face=Courier><strong><em>mfn</em></strong></font>. The initialization used by OS20 can be found in <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>src/os20/clibprot/ehprot.c</strong></font>, and may be used as a guide of what to provide for other operating systems.</font>
