<a name="1205280"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">The floating point mathematics functions provide the same functionality as the ANSI standard double length mathematics functions. The difference is that they work on float values, so the associated code is smaller and faster but has less precision. The names of the float mathematics functions are the same as for their double length counterparts except that an <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>f</strong></font> is appended to the end of the function name and the arguments and returned values are of type <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>float</strong></font>. For example, the float equivalent of <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>cos</strong></font> is <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>cosf</strong></font>, with prototype:</font>
