<a name="1204507"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">The key difference between this command and the command to build an LKU is the <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>romimage</strong></font> option. By default, the <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>romimage</strong></font> option produces hexadecimal format output.</font>

<a name="1208126"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">The <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>DENABLE_WATCHDOG</strong></font> option defines the <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>ENABLE_WATCHDOG</strong></font> symbol to <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>example.c</strong></font>, enabling the use of the <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>watchdog_reset</strong></font> function. This is an external command language procedure which can be found in <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>example.cfg</strong></font>.</font>

<a name="1204508"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">All pokes encountered during the link phase are converted to a table in the ROM image executed by the bootstrap code, so as <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>STi5500MB159</strong></font> performs EMI configuration, the ROM image has access to <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>EXTERNAL</strong></font> memory when running. The example output files are generated with the name "<font size=2 face=Courier><strong>example_ram</strong></font>" because they are executed in RAM.</font>

<a name="1204509"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">By default, program code is moved to RAM by the bootstrap. Such code is listed as <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>MVTORAM</strong></font> in the map file. To execute code from ROM, the following command must be included at link time:</font>

<a name="1204511"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">This can be done by adding <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>T example.cfg</strong></font> to the command line used to create the ROM image, and exchanging the <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>p STi500MB159</strong></font> option with <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>p STi5500MB159_rom</strong></font>.</font>

<a name="1204512"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">A debug information file, <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>example_ram.dbg</strong></font>, is created. A ROM image file named <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>example_ram.hex</strong></font> is created which represents the memory segment <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>FLASH</strong></font>.</font>

<a name="1204513"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Use a flash-burn linked unit (see the <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>examples/flash</strong></font> directory) or a programmer to burn the ROM/FLASH with the ROM image <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>example_ram.hex</strong></font>.</font>
