<a name="1206603"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">There are two configuration settings that are provided by default:</font>

<a name="1207815"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Both types of settings are created with defaults optimized for their main use. Debug settings are designed to be used during the debug phase of your application development (the application is compiled to contain debugging information and to disable optimizations). Release settings are designed for building a release-version application. The type of setting to be used can be selected in the <strong>Build</strong> toolbar, see <a href="guia21.htm#1143900"><font color="#0000ff" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><i>Section燗.5: The toolbars</i></font></a>.</font>

<a name="1207784"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">When an application is built using the Debug settings, the output files are created in a <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>Debug</strong></font> subdirectory below the specified workspace location, and when an application is built using the Release settings, the output files are created in a <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>Release</strong></font> subdirectory below the specified workspace location.</font>

<a name="1206610"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">As an application is developed, these settings can be customized to meet your own requirements and entirely new configuration settings can be created. For example, a pared down version of the Debug settings can be created as an intermediary step before preparing the release.</font>

<a name="1206612"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Configuration settings are created using the <strong>Project Configurations</strong> window.</font>

<p> <font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><li value="1"><a name="1206613"> </a>Select <strong>Configurations...</strong> from the <strong>Build</strong> menu. The <strong>Project Configurations</strong> window is displayed.</font></p>
<p> <font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><li value="2"><a name="1206614"> </a>Click on <strong>Add...</strong>. The <strong>New Configuration</strong> window is displayed.</font></p>
<p> <font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><li value="3"><a name="1206615"> </a>Enter a name for the new configuration setting and select an existing configuration setting to base it on.</font></p>
<p> <font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><li value="4"><a name="1206616"> </a>Click on <strong>OK</strong>. The new setting is displayed in the <strong>Project Configurations</strong> window.</font></p>
<p> <font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><li value="5"><a name="1206617"> </a>Highlight the new setting and click on <strong>Set Active</strong> to set it as your default configuration setting.
