When multiple address spaces are used then there is at least one <strong>Code Window</strong> per address space. Creating a new address space from the <strong>Targets Window</strong> automatically opens a <strong>Code Window</strong> with that space context.</font>

<a name="1017049"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">A <strong>Code Window</strong> can be opened from the <strong>Windows</strong> menu of the <strong>Target Window</strong> or the <strong>Task Window</strong>. Another <strong>Code Window</strong> with the same initial data context can be opened from the <strong>Windows</strong> menu in the <strong>Code Window</strong>.</font>

<a name="1007920"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">The <strong>Code Window</strong> may display C or C++ source code, assembler source code or processor instructions. Execution of the application can be controlled from this window, including halting, continuing, single stepping, setting breakpoints, and displaying the values of variables, loading programs, trace files and core files. </font>

<a name="1001602"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">A code display shows the last known state of the current task, and by default is updated whenever a task hits an event. An <strong>execution marker</strong> is displayed indicating the current stopped position in the code. The code lines are numbered, and clicking on a line number sets or clears a breakpoint.</font>

<a name="1008200"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Clicking on a code line sets this as the currently <strong>selected line</strong> and a <strong>selection marker </strong>is displayed. If this is a valid code line then the line's address and statement reference are shown in the prompt display at the base of the <strong>Code Window</strong>. If the name of an in-scope variable is highlighted then its value is shown in the prompt display.</font>

<a name="1005837"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">The <strong>Code Window</strong> also has a set of buttons, used to perform the most common step and execution operations; and list boxes to select a context, that is, a program, module and task.
