<a name="1142983"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Two changes to configuration files used by <strong>st20run</strong> are required by R1.7 and R1.8 compared with earlier versions:</font>
</p>
<ul>
<p> <font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><li ><a name="1142984"> </a>It is now mandatory to supply a <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>TRAPHANDLER</strong></font> memory segment. This must be of type <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>DEBUG</strong></font>, and be at least 1燢byte in size. Previously this was only required when debugging boot-from-ROM systems, but it is now always required.</font></p>
<p> <font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><li ><a name="1142985"> </a>A <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>chip</strong></font> command has been introduced, which can be used to describe the chip the program is running on. As well as defining the CPU type (ST20-C1 or ST20-C2) this also defines memory segments for internal memory and peripheral registers, and tells the debugger about many of the on-chip registers, so they can be displayed with the <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>register</strong></font> command or in the register window.</font></p>

<a name="1142986"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">For parts that have a DCU3, then the use of the <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>chip</strong></font> command is mandatory. For instance; the STi5514, STV0396 and STV3500 have a DCU3 and so require the <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>chip</strong></font> command.</font>

<a name="1142987"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">For other chips, the use of the <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>chip</strong></font> command is not mandatory (unless <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>-runtime os20</strong></font> is used), but does simplify many configuration files.</font>
</p>
<p>
<a name="1142988"> </a><font size=2 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">When switching to using the <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>chip</strong></font> command, it is usually necessary to remove existing definitions of internal memory and <font size=2 face=Courier><strong>processor</strong></font> commands.</font>
