CONFIG EDIT
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
CONFIG EDIT (CE.EXE) is an on-the-fly editor for CONFIG.SYS. Install
CE.EXE as the 1st "DEVICE=" in your CONFIG.SYS file.
When your system boots, you will hear a tone. You have a short time to
press any key after the tone. If you press a key CE will take over. CE
allows changing CONFIG.SYS before using it.
CONFIG EDIT will install a menu of config.sys files if you have more
than 1 file named CONFIG.something. For example you may have a
CONFIG.SYS, CONFIG.WIN and CONFIG.BC representing your base config,
your windows config and your BOUNDS-CHECKER config.
To choose a different CONFIG than CONFIG.SYS, simply place the
highlight bar on the desired CONFIG then press ENTER to change for
1 boot only, or press F10 to make the chosen file your new
CONFIG.SYS file, or press F2 to edit the chosen CONFIG file on the fly.
EDITING FUNCTIONS WITHIN CE.EXE:
F1 - Pressing F1 allows changing CONFIG.SYS for this boot only. The
changes are not permanant.
F10 - Pressing F10 changes CONFIG.SYS for this boot and subsequent boots.
ESC - Exit with no changes.
OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES:
CE can also be run from the command line. This is for a quick look or
quick changes to CONFIG.SYS.
The /Q switch (Quiet) will disable the initial sound made by CE.EXE when
it is installed in CONFIG.SYS.
The /D NN switch (Delay) where NN is a value in seconds. This switch
determines the amount of time to respond to CONFIG EDIT before your
machine boots.
