<P>地点: 塔那利斯加基森旅馆</P><P>即使不考虑暗夜精灵真正的起源，但他们确实在发现了永恒之井后力量大增。巨魔并没有去努力地扩张它们的领地，而暗夜精灵却创建了一个强大的帝国，并且迅速在卡利姆多大陆上扩张。它们使用的魔法是那些迷信的巨魔从来都没有想象过的，因此，暗夜精灵轻松的完成了邪恶的亚基虫类无法做到的事情——将两个最伟大的帝国从世界上彻底抹掉了。</P><P>暗夜精灵系统性地瓦解了巨魔的防御和攻击力量。巨魔无法对抗暗夜精灵毁灭性的魔法，所以只有坐以待毙。暗夜精灵在这段时间里体现出了和那些野蛮的巨魔一样的狡猾和嗜血——这使得后来的种族对他们非常仇恨和轻蔑。古拉巴什和阿曼尼帝国在之后的数年内便分裂为数个小国家。</P><P>最终，暗夜精灵被他们所试图控制的魔法之火吞噬。他们对于魔法无节制的使用召来了燃烧军团，恶魔摧毁了大部分的暗夜精灵文明。虽然没有资料表明燃烧军团也攻击了巨魔文明，但是几乎整个大陆都陷入了战争。</P><P>在这场恐怖的战争(上古战争)的最后，永恒之井爆炸了。爆炸产生的震荡波撕裂了卡利姆多大陆。大陆的中心沉入海底，只留下一些破碎零落的陆地。</P><P>阿曼尼帝国和古拉巴什帝国的残余势力分别驻留于现在的奎尔萨拉斯和荆棘谷。阿兹亚基帝国的埃卓·尼拉布和安其拉城也幸存了下来，它们位于现在的诺森德和塔那利斯。</P><P>两个巨魔文明在原始世界毁灭之后都衰落了。不屈不挠的巨魔们重建了它们被蹂躏的城市，并着手回复昔日的辉煌。</P><P> </P>
