OVERVIEW
--------
This document contains extremely brief instructions on how to install and 
get started using CAES.

Note that this is a work in progrss.  The code works well and nearly all 
functionality is there, however documentation is quite lacking.

SUPPORTED PLATFORMS

HP/Compaq iPAQ with Pocket PC 2002


SUPPORTED DEVICES
-----------------
We currently have a GPS, barcode scanner, microphone, and camera working.
This release does NOT include any device support.  Before we can release
code with device support we need to remove proprietary code and APIs.  This
is currently a high priority.


INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
--------------------
1) Copy the ESM folder to "\iPAQ File Store".

2) Create a shortcut to "\iPAQ File Store\ESM\Engine.exe" in 
   "\Windows\Start Menu".  To do this, open File Explorer and click-and-hold
   on Engine.exe, then click copy.  Browse to "\Windows\Start Menu", 
   click-and-hold in an area of the window not coved by a file, and select
   "Paste shortcut".


RUNNING INSTRUCTIONS
--------------------
1) Save the QDF file you wish to use as 
   "\iPAQ File Store\ESM\QDF\QDF Example.csv".  Make sure you saved it
   in Comma Separated Value (CSV) format.

2) Remove the iPAQ from the cradle and restart it.  Use the stylist to press
   the soft reset button on the bottom of the iPAQ.

3) Click on "Engine" or "Shortcut to Engine" in the Start Menu.


DEBUGGING INSTRUCTIONS
----------------------
If you get a crash or incorrect operation:

1) Examine "\iPAQ File Store\ESM\log.txt" for possible explanations.

2) If you are SURE you have found a bug post it on our SourceForge website.
